Watching them grow – Gigi

How quickly they grow. When GiGi first came to visit, she was 7 months old. Look at her now! She still has the same captive eyes, but she is so much bigger. That’s the best thing about working with young children. Photographing them often while your children are young let’s you remember just how cute they are at every stage!

A session with Ajax

Meet Ajax.  He came to visit me the other day.  I told Tina his owner to make sure that she ran  him around before coming to the studio so that he would be a bit tired when he came for his portraits.  He was exhausted and we could barely keep him awake!  That’s actually what made his photos so very cute is that you can see from these images just how young he is.  He was irresistible.

It was a windy morning on the beach and this cute puppy came running by loving every minute of being blown around. He was oblivious. Having fun was his only objective.

Who’s the Boss?

Working with newborns is so amazing. It’s hard to believe that so much personality can be packed into such a tiny package. When I first spoke with Stephanie her baby’s due date was for 5 weeks later.  A few days later I got the call saying their baby had been born a month early!!  Stephanie and her husband brought baby Emma to be photographed a few days after her birth (which is the best time to do it while the babies are still very sleepy).  Who would think that a newborn could be so clear about what she wanted!  The room had to be very warm as that is how the babies are most comfortable being photographed. We photographers torture them by taking all their clothes off. And usually that’s how it works, but not this time.  Every time we got Emma into a sound sleep and gently attempted to take her clothes off she would wake up and let us know that removing her clothes was not an option.  As long as she was swaddled she was happy.  It was amazing to watch the bonding between Stephanie and her new baby.  Each time Emma got restless, Stephanie would speak softly to her and that would put her right back to sleep. This time, the baby was the one in charge and it created some wonderful images!

Girls in Wild Flowers It was a beautiful day so we decided to go outside to the garden.  The setting was just perfect.  The girls were having fun running around in and out of the flowers.
