Who’s the Boss?

Working with newborns is so amazing. It’s hard to believe that so much personality can be packed into such a tiny package. When I first spoke with Stephanie her baby’s due date was for 5 weeks later. A few days later I got the call saying their baby had been born a month early!! Stephanie and her husband brought baby Emma to be photographed a few days aft
er her birth (which is the best time to do it while the babies are still very sleepy). Who would think that a newborn could be so clear about what she wanted! The room had to be very warm as that is how the babies are most comfortable being photographed. We photographers torture them by taking all their clothes off. And usually that’s how it works, but not this time. Every time we got Emma into a sound sleep and gently attempted to take her clothes off she would wake up and let us know that removing her clothes was not an option. As long as she was swaddled she was happy. It was amazing to watch the bonding between Stephanie and her new baby. Each time Emma got restless, Stephanie would speak softly to her and that would put her right back to sleep. This time, the baby was the one in charge and it created some wonderful images!
Girls in the Wildflowers

It was a beautiful day so we decided to go outside to the garden. The setting was just perfect. The girls were having fun running around in and out of the flowers.

My New Portfolio
Welcome to my new Bethesda photography portfolio.
For more than twenty years, I have worked behind the lens pursuing my passion. From major D.C. event photography to chasing toddlers in a neighborhood park, I have been fortunate to do what I love.
Having a family of my own has enabled me to realize the importance of preserving treasured moments. Capturing the uniqueness of your family is what I enjoy doing most. Providing you with cherished images of what’s in your heart is the essence of my artistic approach to photography. What could be more priceless?
